I am a linguist who works across fields, sitting between research and application. That's taken me into speech and language technology, teaching, and writing about language from different angles. Across all of it, the same question comes up: how language works, and how to explain that clearly.
Speech and language data work across internships and industry projects, now centered on LLMs and conversational AI systems. Chatette, a personal AI assistant designed and built end to end, is the clearest example of that work in practice — a proof of concept for where this expertise is heading next.
PhD-level research on the syntax-semantics interface in Romance languages, with two published papers and one currently under review. This background provides a structural, top-down way of thinking about language — analysis that goes beneath the surface and holds up under scrutiny.
Training delivery in professional settings, university-level teaching, and private Spanish tutoring, built around real communicative need rather than rote instruction. Currently available for new students.
Writing that translates linguistic research into something anyone can follow. Currently at work on a book in which each chapter opens up a topic in grammar and language for non-specialists, then closes with questions for the reader to sit with — pairing structural analysis with something closer to self-reflection. Available to consult on projects that need complex language topics made clear without losing their substance.
